Shower Time...

Van had just gotten a bubble bath, he was ready to get out and needed to be hosed off. This is him holding the shower head and looking at/talking to his reflection.

Dino Truck

We took a trip to Kohls the other day...we had some Kohls cash. It was only for $10 and we couldn't find anything we needed for that amount, so Van got a new toy car. If you didn't already know, Van is completely obsessed with cars. He's got a ton of them. This new one is a dinosaur truck. When we got it home he was playing with all of his cars, pulling them all out of his toy box and setting them up on the TV stand. Then he told us that the cars were scared of the dinosaur truck. See for yourself....
He had grouped all of the cars on one side and the dino truck on the other. It was too funny, Derek and I were cracking up. Unfortunately by the time I got the camera out, most of the "scared" cars had been put away, but you can still get the picture.

Derek, Van, and Weston playing with the truck. Van was having fun pushing it to baby Weston and Wes liked it too.

Thanks for the, um, flowers?

Last week Derek, being a thoughtful and loving hubby, bought me some....flowers? They're beautiful but I have no idea what they are. They look like tiny paper lanterns. He was being secretive and wouldn't tell me what they were or where he got them, so I guess I will be forever wondering (unless I feel the need to research it).
It took me several days to finally get around to taking a pic of them, so they don't look as good as they did. Kind of deflating and wilting, but still very interesting looking.

Thanks Derek, they're beautiful. You made my day.

Shapes and Faces

My Aunt Julie sent us some fun toys when Weston was born. We took out these shapes and made funny faces with them. They're actually for the bath tub but we had just as fun out of the water.

We made some great faces with all these funny shapes.

Van pushing them all away, guess he's done.

Puppies Stolen!

Cruella De Vil has finally captured those ever elusive dalmations, with help from her accomplice, Horace.
We tried to make the most of the season, so we hit up 4 halloween parties...some more fun than others. People loved our costumes and would take our pictures (like we were celebrities or something). Our ward threw a rather impressive party for having recently been re-organized.
There was a cupcake walk, Van actually won once.
He kept asking to go back up there to "dance"--they were playing some good halloween music up there.

Ghost bowling

Trunk or Treating: people in the ward decorate their trunks and the kids go from car to car and trick or treat.

Some people got really creative with thier trunks

Posing for the camera

We went to our prior ward's party and won best family costumes. I thought this was funny, considering that we aren't in that ward anymore.

We had a good time there, where we actually know people. Also, the bishop is in a band and they played. They're really good--halloween songs in a soulful blues style.
The last party we went to was with the Lloyds. Here is Jason, Van's best bud.
Both boys were caught off guard. Looks like Jason is talking and Van is squinting from some reason. Silly boys.

Pumpkin Carving and Painting

We bought our pumpkins a few weeks back and just last night got around to carving them. Well, actually Van painted on his, which he loved. Derek tried out a new decorating trick from Martha Stewart. I carved out one of the sample cut-out images from the pumpkin carving kit. Fun times.

Fun in the Dark....Trippy Lights Man

I've seen this in an art class of mine and have wanted to try it out ever since. Super fun and it looks cool.
