Spring Break is Coming!!!!!

I was just trying to think of something to write about and my thoughts keep turning to Spring Break.

I would've wrote about Walking With Dinosaurs that we were supposed to go to on Thursday, but Van got an ear infection and fever, so we had to pass those tickets on to friends. Derek and I were super bummed, but it was nice that we could surprise friends (whose kids love dinos)--so that was good. They made us some bread and cookies in the shape of dinosaurs: cute, thanks.

Back to Spring Break. This will be our first week off from our apt manager job and we are so excited to get away! We are going down to visit my dad in So Cal for a day and a half. Then we are off to AZ to visit with all of Derek's family. We are excited for Van to see these family members who we only visit about once or twice a year; plus my dad and Derek's brother's family haven't even met Weston yet! Van is super excited about seeing his cousins--we show him pictures of the family we will be seeing so he knows who they are. :)

We are excited for this quarter of school to be over with.

School updates:
Derek will be done after summer quarter! He has been slowing down his course load a bit so I can take more classes--sweet guy. He only has 3 classes left (however 1 class technically counts for 1.5 classes). So he will take 2 classes next quarter and finish his last class in the summer. YEA for him!
Then I will be able to take a full course load starting in the fall and I will finish after winter quarter (by next spring break--if all goes well; otherwise after spring term). Hooray! There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Derek has lovingly decided to wait to apply for grad school until after I finish. Then, he will apply to schools all over, so we don't know exactly where we will end up. I'm pretty sure he will get in anywhere but he has some doubts (just being extra cautious, I guess).

Along with school updates, Van will be starting Pre-school in the fall. It is a great school that I have heard rave reviews about from several parents. It's a co-op preschool, so parents are involved in helping out with different aspects. I'm excited for him to have more stability in his weekly schedule. I know Van is ready for school; he gets excited to talk about mom and dad going to school and I know he wants to go too. He loves playing wiht other kids and it will be good for him to learn how to deal with all sorts of situations.
That's all I have for now. :)
