Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

It's tree time......we tried to get out last weekend to cut down a tree but I was too sick, so we went this weekend. We totally scored, since we are apt managers we didn't have to pay for the tree, but we were able to enjoy the experience of getting one and enjoy having a tree. :)

Actually it isn't in our home, it's in the front entry of the apt complex, but I think that's better anyway....with Weston at an age where he gets into everything and loves ornaments, "balls" as he calls them. I had envisioned him tugging on some ornaments and knocking the tree down--probably not too far fetched.

Now that all of our decorations are up we are feeling festive. The kids are loving the Christmas lights that we put up in our living room (Wes is in awe everytime we turn them on).

We went to the same place as last year: Christmas Mountain. It's amazing. Great prices, friendly people, free cocoa and candy canes, and a free tractor ride around the farm to find the perfect tree. Then they bale the tree (don't know if that's the right term--they send the tree through a machine that wraps it perfectly).

Perfect day to go, sunny and dry...but totally chilly. I put Wes in his snow suit just to keep warm.
The boys had fun just running around.
We had the whole tractor ride to ourselves.
Here's the end product. Turned out pretty well. Doesn't the fireplace look wonderful. There's a ligth fixture under the grate that wasn't working. Derek fixed it and put in an orange party bulb. It looks amazing now--like a roaring fire. :)

You must manage a very nice property! I'm glad all that worked out for you and that you get to live in such a nice place. Your boys looked totally cute too getting the tree.
