The majority of the time (especially when I'm pregnant) Derek is my chef. But his true love is baking. And he's getting better and better. Whenever our church has a sign-up to bring a dessert, Derek signs-up. He likes to try new recipes and he gets really in to it. The recipe below called for some new cooking tools and he was all too eager to run out and find them. I took some pics of his latest masterpiece. He made it for our ward talent show (which was totally fun). They had a dessert auction for girls camp--Derek's cake made $20! I thought that was pretty impressive. He called it The Widow Maker--A 6 layer chocolate cake with butter cream filling and a coating of chocolate sauce on top that runs down the sides. YUM! I was able to try all the parts separately, but just wish we could've tried it all together; I'm sure it was delicious. Good job honey!
