Yippee....Van is 3!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAN!!!
Stats:
39 1/2 in.
36.7lbs.

It's hard to believe that we made it through the 'terrible twos'; we are hoping that it will be followed by terrific threes!

Every day Van is becoming more and more of a big boy and asserting his independence. He is constantly learning new things...some of which I am not particularly fond of. He loves to sing. He knows his alphabet and the sounds each letter makes; we are working on putting those sounds together into words. He's got a great sense of humor and makes us laugh a lot; he makes the silliest faces. He's got a stubborn streak, which he must get from dad (hehehe....sadly it's from me). He loves sports: kicking around soccer balls, hitting baseballs, throwing, etc. He is still obsessed with cars, anytime we go to a store that he knows sells toy cars, he wants to "see my cars"--we are working on trying to broaden his interests. He loves giving kisses and is very affectionate.

Fun Van story: Van will randomly come out with phrases that he picks up from different places. The other day Van got out of the car and said "tip toe, tip toe, tip toe" and started tip toe-ing into the house. I laughed and then couldn't figure out where this came from. It took a while til Derek and I realized it came from Ice Age 3 that we rented and watced twice. Silly boy.

We are currently working on potty training and Van is very proud of himself when he gets it right. We haven't had too many accidents, yea.

We are very proud of our little man and love him so much, Happy Birthday Van!
