Zoo

Ok, so it isn't new that we were at the zoo; we love the Portland Zoo, it's such a beautiful place. We try to make it for every $2 Tuesday. It was by chance that we were able to go this month. I'm usually in class til 2:00 but I had a mid-term, so I was out by 12:30. The day was beautiful and clear, perfect day at the zoo and surprisingly not too crowded. This trip was a bit different--we brought our awesome camera. I have to share some of the pics that I took and yes I will be bombarding you with pictures: there's a ton. Enjoy:

Van looking at the Mountain Goat at the entrance.

Climbing down the "fallen log"

This is about the closest he would get to the waterfall. Don't know if you can see, but there are Salmon in the falls.

Looking at more fake fish in the water falls

Here's the real fishPointing out the fish to Wes. Doesn't he look thrilled?

Van had lots of fun this time looking at the turtles, lizards, and reptiles.Next up: the farm animals

Driving the TractorChatting with a goat: maaaaWe came up to the Sun Bears and they were wrestling. Fiesty little critters.

Weston looking unsure about being at the zoo.About half way through the zoo Weston fell asleep.

He spent the rest of the zoo like this.
What's Van looking at?
The new Lion enclosure
I was able to get some amazing shots
I think the lion is actually looking at me: kinda creepy.
Fun bronze statues of a lion pride. Van's looking at the cub.
Can you make this out?
Zebra butt :)
Up close of one of the zebras
This monitor lizard turned to look at us and stuck his forked tongue out, like he was trying to tell if we were lunch.
Some kind of monkeys, didn't catch what kind--aren't they beautiful
Tigers:
Must be nap time.
Awesome pic.
Sea lion, arching his back.
Leopard

We have never seen so many animals out. It's usually too rainy and they're hanging out inside or in the back of their enclosures under a covering. It was such a perfect zoo day. We got so many beautiful pictures--love the camera!

Nikon D5000. Some guy at the zoo came up to us and asked if we were professional photographers. Too funny.
