After our stay in CA we had a short 50 min flight over to AZ to see Derek's family. Well actually the flight was short, but getting the rental car took about 2 hours--aweful. When we finally arrived to the house, this is what we saw:
Such a nice sign, thanks.

Not much time to rest, we were wisked off to dinner. Here's the kids having fun in the car.

Van was cracking up and kept asking Kelley to tickle his head.

After dinner we went to a race way/arcade place. Here's Kelley and Katie racing each other.

Sorry to do this to you Kristel. Here's Kristel about 1 1/2 weeks away from her due date. (actually she gave birth 3 days after we left--at home too!). Can't believe we missed it. Congrats Kristel and Darren! Ava is so beautiful.
All lined up in the cars.

Saying hi right before the race.

At home on Sunday. Derek's mom, Diana, threw a big dinner. Here's all the kids playing a game.

Van, Eli, and Weston in the tub having fun.

We went to a train park and had an Easter egg hunt after a nice dinner. Here's Zane, Van, and Kelley looking for eggs. (and Kelley possibly "looking" for something else)

Katie searching the BBQ....nope no eggs.

Kelley was helping Van keep track of eggs. Thanks Kell.
Van and Eli taking a breather after hunting eggs.

Derek took this pic of me, and I kinda like it. Good job honey. :)

Me and Weston. He is so cute, I just love all of his adorable expressions.
My cute boy

Riding the train around the park. This park is too cool.

Later that same day, we played at the park. Here's Kelley kissing Wes on the swings.

Van attacking Katie and Zane.

This was too funny. Zane was afraid of a rolley polley/pill bug/whatever you call them. Here's Kristel trying to get Zane to hold one so he wouldn't be afraid (you tell me if it looks like it's working).

Zane looking at it up close (that's an improvement--he still never held it, oh well).

While the older kids were at school, Kristel, Derek and I went to an outdoor mall play area. It was way cooler than any we have up here. Here's Van and Abby playing.

Van jumping.
Sliding

Cute pic of my 2 boys.

Abby lounging on a caterpillar.

Later that day the kids got to ride on 4 wheelers. Van loved this. Derek took him slowly around the track they made in the backyard and Van kept telling him to "go faster!"

Here's Kelley riding.

Here's Katie.

Katie taking Abby around. (After this ride I tightened the straps on Abby's helmet)

Van pretending to ride on an unworking 4 wheeler. He looks so cute.

Checking the competition behind him.

Van and Abby jumping on what Van referred to as the "Tramper." He could say trampoline, but tramper would always come out first.

More jumping.

Zane having to sit out on what he called the "brick of shame." He's such a funny kid. He was having a time out for jumping too hard and hurting Abby, or something like that.

And more jumping

The sun was setting and it made for some beautiful pictures. Here's Weston and his expressive face.

Such a cute boy.

Wes and Dad.

Wes on the grass.

Playing with the grass.

Too cute

The next day at Katie and Zane's "field day" at school. They had a short day and got to play outdoor games. They had so much fun.
Derek saw this sign at the school and had to take a pic of it.

I love this picture of Abby. After she did this, she came over to her dad and said "did you see me I was doing this"(and she spread her arms and legs in this position:)

Van eclpising Abby.

Happy slider.

Van and Abby attacking Uncle Darren.

Right before we left we had family pictures. Here's the kids doing silly poses.

Awe, cute family.

Funny poses, I zoomed in on us. Look at Derek's face toward his parents.

I Love Van's face, he was getting in to it.

Our flight that night was supposed to be at 7:50pm. I chose that flight thinking that our kids would be tired and probably sleep the flight then we could get home at a decent hour and go straight to bed. We got to the airport with about an hour to wait, then we saw that our flight was delayed til 8:20 (which wasn't a big deal). At 8:30 we heard an announcement that they were having mechanical trouble with the plane and were going to have to find us a new plane. We ended up not boarding our new plane til 10:50pm (we should've been home already). It was a mess. Keeping 2 young kids occupied while waiting in an airport for about 4 hours is NOT fun. Then on the flight we could barely keep our eyes open. The kids were, of course, zonked out but the hardest part was holding Wes while trying not to doze off. We ended up getting home around 2:30ish, thank goodness for our friend Paul who came go get us (even though he had to work early that morning--what a great friend). So needless to say, we were happy to be home!

Looks like such a fun trip. I think Weston has the cutest faces of any baby I've ever seen, including my own kiddo. His little smiles are just so precious!
Awe, that was very sweet...I think so also, he is just so animated with his facial expressions.
What a fun vacation!
